Save for the fact that I must embark on cleaning the bathroom from top to bottom-once more-my day was decent. The sun's out, no sign of rain whatsoever, I went to work, did what I needed to do there and went by the comic book store.

As predicted, they'd run out of Batman Annual, but they had Detective Comics #817 there, especially since it was late by two days and I hadn't bothered to check last Friday for its arrival. I picked up a current issue, an issue pushed back by a month, and a back issue that hadn't been released since October 1999.

Detective Comics #817

This issue is not only part of the One Year Later saga, but it's also crossing over with Batman for an 8-part event that concerns the returning Dark Knight, the Boy Wonder and Harvey Dent, formerly known as Two-Face. Commissioner Gordon's back on the force, and that's excellent news, especially after what took place in the last few issues of Birds of Prey.

Wasn't that much action to speak of in this one, since it is just the beginning of a huge saga with new writers, etc. Still, when Batman is released, more action will undoubtedly be brought into this.

Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #5

This would have to be a two-part issue, and the second part would have to be unavailable. Meaning I'll have to order it just to find out the end results, and that isn't a comforting thought. All I'll say on this issue is that Courtney seems to have come a long way from how she was shown in this, as evidenced in JSA #81.

Not to mention, Young Justice have kept their ties with her pretty close, as seen in back issues Infinite Crisis #5 and Teen Titans #32.

Teen Titans #33

In order to understand what this issue is about, you would have to pick up not just Infinite Crisis #5, but also the still unreleased Teen Titans Annual, since in this book, a major piece of information is revealed on what takes place concerning Superboy and Wonder Girl. In layman's terms, DC Comics gave away a major plotline on an annual book that was supposed to be released the week of Valentine's Day.

Speaking of the Amazon warrior, she had a visitor in Smallville-Ares, her brother and God of War. His reason for being there is stated right off the bat, and her answer will be shown in the upcoming Teen Titans #34. (Not to mention that it also refers to the Titans Tomorrow storyline way back in Teen Titans #17-19.)

This issue was pretty good, overall-it showed how Nightwing and Superboy could actually work together despite the friction between them when it started. It was also amazing to see Nightwing wearing his old costume, and being able to fly with it for quite a while. To find out what happens to the two of them now that they've reached their destination, you'd just have to pick up Infinite Crisis #6 when it's released at the end of the month.

Supergirl #6 was supposed to be released this week, but for reasons I don't understand, it's been pushed back to April 12th! I thought DC Comics was ensuring that all their issues were to have caught up with each other by this month. I hope this is rectified soon.
