My parents and Daniel are at Penn State for a few days. They actually come back tomorrow but they've been gone since...well, yesterday, haha. I've had to wake up early these past two mornings (6:45) so that I could get Steven up and ready for school. Then I had to take him to school. I'm so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning! I fell asleep while we were watching episodes of Futurama last night at around 6:30. Yikes.
Speaking of yesterday, here is a reason why my house needs to be baby proofed. I somehow walked into the coffee table and banged my knee REALLY hard. It killed. Seriously. It hurt so much that I thought I broke my knee. I had to sit down for like ten minutes before I could stand to walk again. Luckily, though, my knee works fine and there's no bump or bruise!! I never bruise. It's weird.
So today I decided that I would make pizza for Steven and me tonight. I went to the supermarket this afternoon to pick up some dough and other ingredients. Who do I happen to run into? None other than Marla Pascucci, my high school English teacher. Talk about awkard encounters. I saw her and started to smile. She smiled at me as though she recognized me but didn't really remember from where. So...she passed me. Haha, awkward. But, as soon as she did that, she shouted out my name.
Marla: Michael!
Me: Yes!
Marla: I didn't recognize you at first because you've got new glasses and you're older now.
Nice try. I've had these glasses since the 8th grade. And I will say that she has a point in that I did get older. It's been about four years since I last saw her. But let's be real; I didn't get plastic surgery or anything and she's no spring chicken, yet I still recognized her. And then she hugged me. In any case...
Marla: So how have you been?
Me: I've been really great. How about yourself?
Marla: Yeah, I've been good too. So what are you doing?
Me: ...
What am I doing? I'm grocery shopping!
Marla: Like what are you studying in school?
Me: Oh! English, actually. And Psychology.
Marla: Aww, well that's excellent. Do you want to be a writer? A teacher?
Me: Um...I'm not too sure yet. I'm actually an RA at my college so I think I'd like to be a Residence Director for a few years after. Other than that, I don't know yet.
Marla: Oh, really? That's exactly what I did. I was an RA in college. You sure learn the basics of Psychology with that job!
Me: Haha, yeah, you're telling me!
Marla: Well, let me know what ends up happening! It was good to see you!
It was awkward to see her. I always loved Ms. Pascucci for some reason.
So anyway, I bought the pizza dough and it didn't even occur to me that it was going to be a frozen ball of dough. It is never going to be thawed out by supper time, haha. This is not good. Steven had the oven lit for something earlier so I put the dough in there while it was still semi-warm in hopes that it would thaw faster. This should be interesting...
