Where the two slabs of concrete meet that form the floor of our garage and the driveway respectively, there is quite a bit of a gap. Turns out that below the concrete garage floor slab, there is another gap. And so the children and _MWife_ and I were able to watch a rather sizable toad (in the vicinity of a medium sized apple) squeeze herself down into that gap last night. Like a car into an overly tight parking spot, she had to back into it in reverse.

Which, if you think about it, not only takes some talent, but also some guts. The space is too small to verify that something else hasn't squeezed into that space already. It need not be something that she could oust after all (esp. considering how difficult it is to out someone derriere first; that's usually not how bouncers approach the problem for example). It also makes me wonder by what clever search strategem she discovered this spot in the first place.
