I am back from a supremely exquisite four days in the DC area. (This does not include the plane trips, of course, which were between good and passable at best.) I still plan to post more about all the good and fun things that I did when I was there, but let me start off by saying that I got the royal treatment extraordinaire from
liedowndog and her hubby, PersonalLibriarian, and the DC-Tour for the Culture-Starved from
amyceleste and her partner ProfessorK. To all four of them I can only say: Again, mille mille gratia for all the hospitality, friendship, the great wine & food, the sites, and most of all, the sophisticated conversation.
A second round of thanks goes to all the people who tramped out to
liedowndog's house for brunch on Sunday: It was good to see them all again and talk with them about old friends and new developments.
A final thank-you goes to
_MWife_, who held down the fort while suffering from the flu and still managed to keep things in good order; and to Ocho and Venti, who toughed out the delayed flight from Houston so that they could pick Daddy up from the airport over two hours past their bedtime.
