So I finally got my EDUMACATION today. These past six years, I have done my best with the opportunities given to me, and at the same time had to do some serious growing up.
The past six years I have:
-Maintained my status as Crimson Tide football fan despite being "war eagled" to death
-Kept in touch with the friends and family (these people mean the world to me)
-Made only four B's, making my cumulative GPA a 3.93
-Worked for two innovative car manufacturing companies (Honda Manufacturing of Alabama and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama)
-Had a nervous breakdown
-Studied in the ballpark of roughly 6000 hours
-Regretted studying so much and not spending as much time with friends and family
-Met the girl that I plan to marry
-Bought a new car
-Spent way too much money
-Saw Nine Inch Nails four times in concert
-Made some pretty smart decisions
-Made some really dumb decisions
-Met some new and really cool people
-Met some really crappy (for lack of a better word!) people (especially obnoxious auburn fans)
-Moved in and out of apartments eight times
-Suffered through the losses of six Iron Bowls before thoroughly enjoying a 36-0 victory
-Stayed out waaay to late drinking many times
-Openly questioned my Christian faith
-Affirmed my Christian faith
-Lost a grandfather to Parkinsons disease
-Lost a grandmother to Alzheimers disease
-Been grateful to see my other grandfather beat lung cancer
The one really life changing situation that brought my soul to its knees was when dad was killed my freshman year. I still miss him terribly and wanted to share my celebration so much with him today. Everything I have done well and for the better good is because of the influence of this man, and I hope I made him proud. I don't think it is a coincidence that today, my graduation day, is also the fifth anniversary of his death.
I hope that I can go out and make this world a better place as a result of my existence. To everyone who has helped me along the way, I love you guys and will always do my best to succeed.
