Why did
Roxie speak of
a slayer as though it was something to be feared? She went down so quicky, it was ludicrous. Some slayer--she hesitated instead of attacking, giving me my opening. How satisfying to see the pool of blood form under her. Of course,
Sunflower--one of them--would have to show up, armed with a weapon deadly to my kind. He was too much of a coward to shoot me with it, though, and the horrified look on his face--priceless. I'm sure he took her to get help, but the shot may have been fatal anyway. And if not? I can always shoot her again.
The other girl from the party, the dark-haired one--I shot her several times, and no one showed up to try to save her. She is safely out of the way, I have no doubt.
The man, on the other hand, has some sort of strange luck that foiled my attempt to kill him. He shouldn't have been able to touch me, I was teleporting so quickly, yet he got in a blow that sent me reeling and let him escape. He'll wear the marks of my blade for some time, however. If he's smart, he'll take it as a warning to stay out of my way.
He is not my real concern, anyway. The others--both
Sunflowers, the slayer, and the freakishly strong
Eva--they are marked for death. I won't rest until Roxie is avenged and back at my side.
