The story is just that. The jeep has a removable hard top attached by latches inside the car, so when you go fast on the freeway, it's makes a whistling sound because the air seeps though. So I was with Brian Hays and his friend Chelsea, and she had to go home since it was so late (hence the no time to see a movie). And because she lives at 19th avenue and Northern, we hopped onto the freeway to take her home. We just started driving up the on-ramp, and the whistling noise kicks in, yet this time it's 10 times louder than when I'm going 80. And just as Brian asks what the noise is and I explain how it's usually not that loud, the front half of the roof flies off behind us, toward the traffic follwing us onto the freeway. We frantically pull off to the side and run down the side of the ramp to retrieve the roof of my car (and get a foot away from a hissing rattlesnake, mind you). Luckily, it didn't hit any cars, and no one ran over it, so we we're able to squeeze it in the backseat, as we drove surface streets from Scottsdale and the 101 to 19th Avenue and Northern.

And as I recall the incident, I can't help but wonder if the three of us sitting on the roof at once, just moments before driving to take Chelsea home, may have anything to do with this.
