It can feel difficult to try to keep balanced - between humility and audacity, between self-sacrifice and egocentricity, between shame and hubris, between aggression and submission.

The true self is there, slipping through light and shadows, moving through and casting both. Potentially -but never completely- anything, and yet in a moment, in a situation, our actions are sometimes plain and easy to describe.

In trying to compare excesses of focus on others or self - whether to live too much for others, or too little for them... it's just that so much of living is, and must be, somewhere in-between.

Whatever forces animate the living are both relational, and individual; borne of innate needs and desires based in form and biology, and environments that bear context to these.

A joyful and heart breaking truth:
Living, being, is never really a zero sum game. It's about us, and it's not about us.
