Guidelines #23/ Derivation

Nov 15, 2006 18:45

Upon reading past guidlelines issues i noticed one thing that was badly lacking in them. Where my ideas for creating entries derived from. It is a simple thing stated.
List: From the computer programming language Haskel
Girl and I: I got this from my mother telling me it is person and I and never me and person.
Kodak moment: I got this from the movie teenage mutant ninja turtles when donotello and mike spot the other turtles hugging.
Guidelines: I got this from the movie pirates of the carribean. Instead of writing a "code" i figured they would be more like guidelines really.
Announcement: I got this from the scientology church. An announcement is done quickly because it is allowed to be done disturbing the other students in the room.
Lists people thought and objects: I got this again from programming. In object orientated programming, there is the object itself and the methods that get done with the objects. A thought is a method done by me, an object is the thing itself and a person is something i dont want to lower to the level of an object!! I havent listed methods that can be done by an object yet. I don't know if i will.
Movie reviews: any magazine has them. Many journals have them but dont have them as a lone entry.
/: I got this idea when i wanted to add more movie reviews in comparing them to other movies. Many people have used the term vs, like superman 1 vs superman 2. I hate this because there is no point in saying one movie is better than another. Your just suppressing ones right to make the movie, making your own cult of the acceptable and the unacceptable ones. / was a way of bringing to movies together to see what was done well and what wasn't, and perhaps one big lesson to learn from both.
Thats where the ideas came from! They are fucking random but then again so am i.
