Holy Sails for sleeves Batman!

So, I finished the right front of Carolyn this morning, and decided to knit the sleeves next.  I went to cast on, and the pattern asks me to cast on 58 sts.

The top of the sleeve is 68 BLOODY STITCHES

What now?

So, I recalculated the slope of the sleeve, and will now be casting on 36 sts.
