Through actually finishing up my Boren application, I'm realizing it's kind of  a joke--there is no reason in hell for the State Dept. to give me 12 Gs to go to Serbia, because I feel like it. Figuring out the budgeting, though, has been an excellent fun little adventure. Like a scavenger hunt in Serbian. Riding the bus in Belgrade, for example costs 40 Dinars. I freaked out thinking 1 Dollar = 1 Dinar. 1 Dollar actually = 66 Dinar.

ALSO, People exempt from the Paying that 40 Dinar to get on the bus include!:

(No, this is a real list like no shit)
1. "Users of the family disablility pension by virtue of a family member who participated in the fighting actions of 1990, after August 17 th ."
2. "Recipients of the order of "National Hero""

3. "Recipients of the Medal "White Eagle with Swords""

4. "Warriors in Spanish War in 1936 to 1939"

5. "Disabled for work because of an accident at a workplace or some professional disease with 70 - 100% of physical handicap"

6. "Warriors in war between 1912 and 1918"

7. "Children under seven"

Further: The Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade also wants me to go to the Mausoleum of Tito, which includes his baton collection.
