I like knowing what I'm getting into that way I don't waste oodles of money on a book I won't read. But if one more person draws a parallel between Harry Potter and some other book that has absolutely nothing in common with it. I will scream bloody murder and kill them.
Somehow I doubt that Harry Potter (world renowned seven book series written for children/young adults based around a schooling system for wizards) has anything in commong with a depressingly dark series written strictly for adults. Okay, they can both be thrown under the heading "Fantasy" That means squat. That's like saying if you like Meg Cabot you should try Charles Dickens. Both are about people who live in cities. That makes them the same to me.
