This past weekend completely renewed my love for Guiding. I've been a bit down, and stressed, and bored, and annoyed with it lately, but that's mainly Brownies, with my Grandma, and this woman named Deb. But this weekend was the Babysitter's Course camp I organized and ran for girls form all over London and Chatham and Glencoe.
I cannot even begin to put into words how incredible the weekend was. These girls came to camp not knowing anyone. By about 2 hours after they got there, it seemed as though they'd all come knowing at least 3 or 4 friends. By Saturday, they had inside jokes, and were calling each other "best friends". Saturday night, they wouldn't shut up, wouldn't stop talking, because they wanted to keep talking and hanging out with their new friends! I told them Sunday morning that it seemed like we'd been camping for at least one week, such as summer camp.
The other thing was the responsibility level of these girls. They wouldn't stop helping us!! It was ridiculous! These ladies took so much initiative, and were so helpful, it absolutely blew my mind. The people needing babysitters in the next few years are going to be very lucky to have such great babysitters.
Again, my love for Guiding, and my hope for the girls of the future has been renewed. Thanks, girls!
