my trip to L&D..
Yesterday my Family and I was on our way to Walmart ( about 1 hr away) and in the middle of our travel I was feeling the very worst pain ever. This pain was located on my left side under my rib cage area. The pain is still their.
I couldn't handle the car ride any longer and needed to lay down, mind you we are in a car with my Husband and 2 kids. laying down wasn't a option, lol.. so we came to a conclusion that I need to be checked out so we decided on calling a ambulance because I was really getting loud with my mouth. I was moaning and yelling... So, the Ambulance came and hooked a IV to me and draw some blood and he went to touch my spot and I bursted into tears and he didn't know what to think. he said it could be any thing.
Well, this Hospital wasn't where my Doctor is and that was a bad thing for the Nurse once we got their, I didn't think any thing of it because I was in too much pain. So this Nurse seems to be hard of hearing. She kept asking me where my Husband is and I told her he was with the kids and he followed us by car. She asked why I was in the area and didn't go a different direction? hmm, I didn't really know where she was going with this but I answered her and told her we was going shopping and normaly go this route.. well, she asked again about my Husband and said that I would probably be discharged right away because it sounds like normal pregnancy pain and the baby seems to be fine. So she told me to call him. Ok, I call him and he tries to come up but Security stops him because no children are allowed.. hmm, I said some thing to the Nurse about that and she said, No kids allowed. Well then why in the world did you have me call him to come up and I guess she didn't hear me. (might I add that I had a private room with a tv and 2 chairs with a bathroom so why wouldn't the kids be able to come up)
I couldn't get comfortable in bed with that monitor on me and the Nurse kept coming in asking what was wrong with me and I told her I hurt. when she was discharging me she asked if I felt better and I said no.. I mean, why would I have felt better? they didn't really give me any thing for my pain. funny thing is, the baby kept kicking me and it was super loud on the monitor so she turned the volume down very low.
any ways, she kept telling me that I shouldn't be at that Hospital and should be at the one where my Doctor is. That was annoying to hear that over and over again.. They never found out what was wrong with me either. they said every thing came back good but they didn't do a ultra sound either so who really knows what it is. They gave me that test to see if I was going into preterm labor and I wasn't. ( it's a test where they put a swab in the vagina and take sample)
after a few hours they let me go and said I was on bedrest and no sexual activity. hmm, It's weird that they put me on bedrest though.
This pain is horrible though. I'm guessing I could of gotten a hernia some how but she thought it was the baby. I find it hard to believe that it's the baby though. I don't know but that's how I feel... I know I left a bunch of the story out but some of it was like a blur to me. Just thought that I would share my nice L&D story with you all..
