Inbetween teeth
You find yourself
stuck
I'm afraid to let go
too afraid to fly
You're just about the right size for my weight,
Please hold me close to the ground
Cheek against asphalt
Skin against dirt
and my sordid past
If I stay longer in this room with you,
I'll fly up to the ceiling, dieing in fits of laughter and gas.
Only to be crushed by our huge fan,
blades spinning ever so quickly
You find yourself caught
between my teeth
Like a flavor untested,
Unknown to my snake of a tongue, attached to the black of the cancer that over takes every inch of my body
Please sing to me,
So that I'll believe that you're the best that I've never had.
Because you're so unlike the others
A gentleman,
An honest friend,
A man who's been through hell
only to return
and close the door on my face,
and wink at me through the window
Lie to me please and let me think,
you are like the others, those who I adore
because as the moth adores the flame, I am writhing in pain from them...
with a smile on my face
I love you,
But I'd never tell you anything of it,
just like I'll never tell you of the labyrinth of my emotions and desires, only
Because you're the best thing that I'll never have.
the soul is the passage way to the eyes.
