Why is it that when we strive for Apathy
we get emotion.
When we look for emotion,
All there is is apathy.
I called them tonight to tel them of things they should know
this like
"This is what I want but I'd never tell you."
Things like
"I wish things were like the were."
I slept for hours without cosing my eyes
I wept for hours without shedding a tear.
I called you but you didn't answer.
You let it ring, like I did so many times before.
Then with hopes for better results I tried another
Numbers that don't work,
That don't answer when you dial them.
Is that the service, or just something I deserved?
Reminising upon times long gone
much different
And slightly grey in scale.
Why was it vibrant then?
Revelations and Epiphanies
now a dime a dozen
you all think you're smart when you think something new
But it's just an idea that was forgotten from the day before.
You all think you're smart when you act like it's collected
But that's the toll to this ride of apathy
One that doesn't end when the night is darkest
and when the sun crawls to reach the sky.
We're all just searching for that one thing in life
The thing you'll hate and blame for passing the time away
the thing that won't matter,
society's a bitch aint it now?
You won't matter and neither will the words you say,
the acts you do and the friends you choose.
They'll be there in the morning, all of them but you.
You'll be popular,
Everyone will say the loved you,
All the riches in the word can't save you.
When you have everything what is there to do?
Songs reviberate back to your hollow ears
tunes that are causing no reactions.
Hollow, cold, stiff.
lays in this casket you've created.
But did you ever say thank you for the formaldehide.
Did you say thank you for their unacceptance
Did you say thank you,
Did you say anything at all.
As the roof curmbles
even the strongest shingles break,
on thier head topples the life that lays there
The one that could've been prevented,
If Fate hadn't been so romantic.
If all their hearts could take it.
3 times in one hour,
and all it was was water
