Y'know that feeling right after you get your paycheck? The one where you feel infinitely rich? Yeah, I wish that lasted forever.  I need to get working on that.

Yesterday at camp, Angela, a five year old, told me that she assumed I was married.  She didn't understand why Austin, who's 15, wasn't married either.  Then two other girls professed that they would never get married, either.  Except one gave in and said she was going to marry her dad one day. I tried to convince her elsewise.  The icing on the cake was when I was asking the incestuous girl's younger sister (a 2 year old) if she would like an ice pop, and Angela's older cousin (11?) asked if the toddler was my daughter. I almost died.

So last night Alex called me from the ferry and informed me that he was taking me out for dinner.  We went to Oscar's in St. James, which is this cute restaurant with plenty of candlelight a hint of beachy ambiance. Very romantic.  And Nikki Payntar was the hostess, so we got an extra-friendly greeting.

I visited Ithaca the other weekend, and combined with the fact that I've been in contact with my roommate at Cornell (who happens to be a guaranteed transfer student, too!) and a fellow Geneseo / Cornell transfer, I'm feeling pretty comfortable about the transition. (I've only been waiting for this for over a year. No biggie.)  In brief, Ithaca is awesome. It's a real city with real people.  It even has lots of shopping opportunites and a reputation for great food... What more could a girl ask for? The campus is goooorrrrgeous (Check out facebook for just a sneak peak!) and aside from the enormous hill that I'll need to climb to get from my dorm to pretty much anywhere on campus, I'm looking forward to take-two of my college experience.
