New Songs!
This is me breathing life into this community. Haha.
This past weekend I went to Quebec City for the last weekend of their summer festival/400th anniversary celebration. On Friday night, the Plain White T's headlined the second stage. It was probably one of the best sets I've seen them play, mostly because it was the longest. From Tom's awkward French greeting ("Bon soirée!" followed by polite clapping at the silly American trying to speak French) to the last note of All That We Needed, it was 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Oh, and they played two new songs.
In total, and in a completely messed up order because it's been two days and I can't remember, they played:
-Our Time Now
-Revenge
-You And Me
-Friends Don't Let Friends Dial Drunk
-Figure It Out
-Let Me Take You There
-Hey There Delilah (of course)
-Hate (I Really Don't Like You)
-Take Me Away
-All That We Needed
-Anything
-Breakdown (!!!)
-Penny (Perfect For You) (!!!!!)
-Big Bad World
-Natural Disaster
I kind of freaked out a few times because 1) I frigging love Breakdown and 2) I haven't heard them play Penny in at least three years. In fact I think the last time I heard it MIGHT have been the same time I heard Breakdown for the first time, which was November of 2004. So for the entire first verse of Penny I was standing there like a knob with my mouth hanging open all "SERIOUSLY they're playing this?" and then Breakdown almost made me lose my shit entirely.
Oh. Yeah. And they played two new songs from their album, which if you're up with the news you probably already know is coming out in September. I dunno, I've been out of the loop.
