i was just thinking about this in the shower. probably because today is friday, and i realized i didn't really care what was going on this weekend.

things i don't care about, but did three years ago:
- what the coolest new underground party is in nyc
- finding new, cool bands (ok, i still care about this, but before it was like "let me find them before anyone else does)
- coming up with inventive new ways to survive a work day off of three hours sleep (sans drugs)
- what's going on in the world of myspace
- finding a new and improved boy (yeah, boys are great, they're just not a priority at the moment)

things i care about now, but didn't three years ago:
- saving for retirement
- saving for more traveling
- investing in the stock market
- eliminating my credit card debt (i'm half way there!)
- my jobs (making the best out of my current full time job and trying to make my part time job the new full time job)
- getting enough sleep to do good at school and both jobs (i have a 3.8 at parsons)

i still love fun. don't get me wrong. it's just that the past two years showed me that saving up and being able to take off up to two months at a time (for summers off, traveling abroad, emergency foot saving time, etc) is WAY better than boozing it up seven nights a week and having nothing to show for it except blurry photos.

TOTALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THANKSGIVING. i'm pretty sure this holiday was actually invented JUST for me. food and drink? i'm so there. and SLEEP??!!! yeah. awesome. on second thought, maybe this holiday was invented for all new yorkers. no offense to the rest of the u.s., but we do food and drink better than anywhere else (unless you want mexican, then look to texas)... and we're the CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS. hello. we need a day off.

saturday field trips are one of my new favorite things. last weekend, we went to prospect park. two weekends before that, we went to greenwood cemetery. photos from both:
