You know how some people are color blind? I think some people are body language blind. Let me preface this by saying I'm totally stoked about my student sysadmin whom I hired last year. He's a really smart, amazingly productive person...but he insists on giving me the play-by-play of every little change he makes and what broke and what's great about the automated build he is debugging. I'm sitting hear trying to correspond with people or do research and my body language is practically SCREAMING disinterest, but he still comes back here every couple minutes to bore me with the minutia of his trouble-shooting process. I just don't have the heart to actually vocalize that I would rather he not tell me every little thing about it. It's frustrating.
