(no subject)
I attempted to surf the other day. The waves weren't big, but they were good starter ones. I didn't actually stand up at all, but I could've. I basically learned how to paddle out, sit on the board, stop waves from coming over you, and paddle out on one until you stand. I had fun. I don't know why I hadn't tried it beforehand. My brother and uncle did it all the time, as well as some other people I know. I went with these Norwegian chicks that know a guy my brother works with. I don't normally hang out with many chicks, but they were pretty fun. We went to a secluded type beach today, and they were topless and taking pictures of each other and laying out. On Friday we're supposed to play paintball and then go snorkeling on Saturday. I'm really fucking burnt, but I should have known better to put on more sunscreen seeing as how I burn easily and can't tan. The reflection off the water always makes it worse. It really hurts, but it'll fade as I take care of it. Today I'm gonna check out some art museums downtown and maybe try to even out this damn burn. Green day is coming soon here. It's been a long week, but it's been relaxing.
I still need to get something to bring back for my mom for her b-day that was the other day...glad I wasn't there for it (don't ask why).
My brother is supposed to go to rehab tomorrow. My dad rescued him once again last night and he had a black eye. He may have to go to detox before anything else, but somehow I doubt that will happen...my dad asked for this. He was also recently involved in some type of theft with a car and paraphernalia and what not.
Hurricane Daniel is headed this way, but who knows if it will actually hit us.
There are these funny "lucky" cats that the Japanese believe in, and they're EVERYWHERE here. Dan and I have good laughs about them when we see them pop up everywhere - like in shops and restaurants. They're called Maneki-Neko and they're kinda like statues - ranging in size and color. They're supposed to bring customers and money and other things into your life. So many other things here are believed to bring luck to you. Here's one type of one:
