The old man has surely lost it this time. Posting governors at the school was nuisance enough, but having an ex-Death Eater reside at Hogwarts was pure lunacy. Another ex-Death Eater Snape reminded himself. Just how does he think this could possibly turn out well? After the Dark Lord’s defeat many of his following were sent to Azkaban. Even though it was common knowledge among the magical community that Lucius Malfoy had been a Death Eater the man’s status and therefore influence left him unscathed. Exaggerated tales of the man’s heroism flooded the Daily Prophet. Single Soul Brave Enough To Be Double Agent.

It took a reminder of Dumbledore’s earlier request that the Head Boy and Girl give the governors a formal tour of Hogwarts.
Fine. He thought as he made his was back down to his private quarters. Let him have his fun.
After what Hermione thought to be long awkward silences leading their way down long winding halls and what Lucius determined was an exceptional view the entire route they stopped outside his chambers.
“Well,” she said breaking the silence, “I hope that was to your satisfaction.” As soon as it left her mouth she regretted her choice of words.
