My job

Jun 25, 2009 15:43

After spending the past two hours filing, sorting, calling, and scheduling, I realize how true my statement yesterday to Mr. Wonderful after explaining for a while about what's up in my dentistry, "Managing my health care is nearly a full time job... the government pays me to be a health care coordinator, for myself."

It's not an easy job, when everything needs to be done at once and payment for services need to be found somehow... I'm juggling a primary care doc, a neurologist, a rheumatologist, dentistry, labs, scans, pharmacy, Medicare, the Medicare provider, Special Needs, and Medicaide. I need to add an ear doc to look into my deafness on my left ear and I need to get new contacts. And I need to get to appointments without a car.

I called the Medicare provider specialist who helped me get Medicaide and the QMB specialist who says I have Medicaide to find out why I've not yet received a member card or ANY info about my benefits, though I received my award last month and have supposedly had benefits since the first of the month. I've called each a few times; they never answer the phone or return a call. I hope they are, at least, looking into the reported problem. I'd like a little help with dental, scans, and prescriptions and I need to know what's covered now that I have more insurance.

I quit smoking and thought I'd have some money - bwahahaha.... that's what I get for thinking!

goals, deal
