Spun Gold

I have yards and yards of this gold damask fabric. I've been holding onto it for a while and plan to make a robe à la Polonaise with it. It will be awfully daring of me, as I cannot quite pull off yellow. I'm hoping I can carry gold.

One of the mad_hattery members unknowing sparked just the accessory (and theme) I'll now be following for the outfit.

It's a perfect one for the style of robe - the humble origins of "milkmaid" match those of miller's daughter. I may make it an 1880s version to complete 24) Sew Victorian ensemble.

Suddenly, I wish I wasn't a maintainer! Then I could enter the contest. LOL

Gold damask square is sample of multiple yards of textile. Gold braid, gimp, and other trim. Child's size straw hat, planned to trim as part of my 101/1001, 22) Complete three mini hats: tricorn, top hat, and straw.

I was thinking of shaping the straw hat into a little tricorn shape. I'll have to replace my third hat, but I think it could be done.

The only issues I'm having with this idea - where am I going to be wearing a polonaise before 11 a.m.? Or, for that matter, where am I going to be wearing a polonaise around people that know the straw hat is for the morning?
