The sound of London rain

Thanks a bunch to those who commented on my previous entry. I will get back to you all soon! Between net troubles and a mad rush to catch up on the work I've foolishly neglected, I'm a bit strapped for time. That said, I intended to make a post about my holiday this evening. But after learning of the London transport blasts and being glued to the TV for most of it, I've lost all gusto. My cousin and oldest school friend, Lou, have been living and working there for the past year and a bit and are regulars on the public transport circuit. I haven't managed to get in touch with them yet. The odds of them being directly affected are so slim, but I'll feel a whole lot better once I know for sure that they're okay.

My condolences go out to those affected by the tragic events of this morning. I'd be so freaked out if something like this ever happens in Melbourne or Sydney. It feels as if we're just waiting for it to happen everywhere in due time. The worst part is there's no way of ever predicting, preparing for, or protecting ourselves against, senseless extremist tactics. How can we compete with or counteract suicide bombing? :/ I'm disturbed, saddened, and shocked. Yet I'm sitting here, a world away from London, and watching news coverage which I'm sure isn't an ounce as real or shocking to me as it is for those of you in such close proximity. Since FF is down (yet again), I want to send a shout-out to all my English friends; particularly Londoners, _surrounded  and justtracy, who I hope are safe and well. I know naughtyelf was there for a convention not long ago, but is home now, thank goodness! I sincerely hope everyone's relatives and friends are safe too.♥
