I just had a bowl of Fruity Bites for breakfast. You know the cereal type. They look innocent enough, if not a bit too brightly coloured. Close relatives of the Fruit Loops, they are. Anyway, AFTER consuming the entire bowl, I decided to read the nutritional contents on the side of the package - my heart nearly stopped. Lets just say that I'm glad I'm not diabetic.
In a single serving of 30 grams, get this, 28 grams is carbohydrates, 1/3 of which is sugar. The cereal was 30% sugar. I can feel my fingers trembling already. God help the kids who ate this cereal for breakfast. How the hell are their tiny little bodies supposed to cope with such a massive dose of sugar first thing in the morning? It's not right I tell you. Why not just feed your kids sugar straight from the packet marked 'Sugar'. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying this crap they call a breakfast cereal. I feel stomache cramps and a headache coming on.
