Previously, I have updated when a single event has inspired some sort of comment on my part (uncles lighting their farts on fire, hippies, etc). Unfortunately, I have found that my life is simply not exciting enough to rely upon those situations for posting material... So, without further ado, I present a random and meaningless update.
Went to a Redskins vs. Chargers game on Sunday. Tailgating a football game is a great time. Suffering a disastrous overtime loss because your team has ZERO production on offense is not. Played around with my somewhat new and mediocre cellphone camera.
How many white males does it take to light a charcoal grill?
Mr. Stevens, a high-school history teacher, preparing potatoes while drinking Bud Light at 11am.
Tim, still happy and unaware of the impending overtime loss.
Oh well. Tickets were solid, and it was only the 2nd NFL game I have ever been too. Following it up with my Detroit Lions firing their head coach, and it was a crazy football weekend!
There was an extremely interesting opinion piece in The Washington Post on Sunday about US torture policies:
Torture, American Style You may need to register with WPost to read the article (no fees, and I don't get spam from them). If someone really wants to read this article, but does not want to register, I will cut and paste it behind an LJ cut
Basically, the US does a lot of stuff that would be considered "torture lite", and the article is sort of a summation of the arguments and the various bills and polices that the American administration has based its behavior on. A very good read, and an eye opener for the "realities" behind interrogation and intelligence gathering on foreign soil.
Hmmm, that's all I have for now. I just put three wintergreen Altoids in my mouth at once, and may be on the verge of a mint overdose. I must remember moderation is key, and that there is no such thing as recreational mint use.
