Smallville 9x06 'Crossfire' recap/picspam
I have spent ALL day working on this, but have loved every minute of it. Anything to relive this episode over and over again!
Also, side note - this is my very first recap/picspam for... anything. So please, be kind. :D
(Btw, she was totally fixing his cufflinks as that scene opened LMAO.)
And so we begin the episode with the opening for a morning TV show called "Good Morning Metropolis".
Lois: "Good morning, Metropolis. I'm your host Lois Lane.
*Clark looks up at the celling, completely lost and not paying 100% attention, while fixing his cufflinks.*
Clark: "And I'm your co-host, Clark Kent."
Lois: "And we're here to make the start of your day...."
Again, Clark's not on cue. He nods at the camera, smiles and completely forgets what he's supposed to say, so Lois quickly fills in. LOL.
Lois: "... just a little bit brighter! Right, Clark?"
Clark: "Right, a little less brighter."
LMAO! Nice, Clark.
Lois: "Could we start over?"
Producer lady: "No problem. Just let me know when you're ready."
Lois: "Great."
Lois (to Clark): "Look, I appreciate you helping me audition. I'm still angry you didn't tell me how badly Oliver was doing, but you're here anyway so please - don't make me wish you weren't!"
Clark: "It's okay, Lois. You don't need to get all worked up like you usually do."
Lois: "Well excuse me Mr. 'I'm slow and steady and know what's best for everyone'. This happens to be important to me, with newspapers on the endangered species list, news television is my one and only back up plan."
Clark: "Don't you think you could be a little less dramatic with this whole thing?"
Lois: "Oh! You could be a little bit more passionate with this whole thing. But not you, not mild mannered Clark Kent! Do you even care if I get this job?
Proudcer lady seems to be loving this whole banter between these two. And so do I. ;)
Clark: "Of course I do! I bought a new tie."
LMAOOOOOO!
Lois: "Oh, well I bought a whole new outfit."
Clark: "Hey, you look great!"
Lois: "Don't do that."
Clark: "What?"
Lois: "Don't you dare reassure me right now!"
Clark: "Lois... I'm only doing this for you."
Awwwwwwwww. And the expression on Lois' face when he says that. <3
Clark: "How else I'm gonna get that second date."
Again, the look on Lois' face. <3
Lois: "Well, you should have thought about that after you stood me up the first time."
Producer lady: "Thanks guys, that'll do."
Lois: "Oh, oh, I'm, I'm sorry we weren't... really - one more time would be great."
Producer lady: "That's it for today."
And Lois looks sad. Awww. :( But then...
Producer lady: "What do you say you come in bright and early Monday morning and give it another whirl? You got the job, congratulations!"
YAY! Happy Lois!!
Lois: "Great!"
And she glomps Clark.
Clark: "Well, I guess this means you forgive me."
Lois: "Well, let's just say I won't forget about you when I go national."
Producer lady: "Uh, actually... we want you both."

Clark: "I'm sorry?"
OMG the looks on their faces and Tom's delivery of "I'm sorry" = priceless!
Lois: "Oh no, um, he's just here to help me."
Clark: "I am more of a behind the scenes kind of guy."
Producer lady: "Oh that's good! That's real, that's what people want nowadays. Besides, you two have great chemistry like Hepburn and Tracey, Regis and Kelly. It's a package deal, guys. Either you both stay, or you both go."
I LOVE the way she grabs his hands, and gives him that pleading look to do this for her. How can he say no?
After the opening credits we have this scene with Clark and Chloe at the Daily Planet where he tells her that BOTH he and Lois got the job. Then they talk about Tess and the Kandorians.
Clark gives Lois this adorable, flirty smile. Srsly. GUH!
Lois: "What are these?"
Clark: Release forms from KZXP. They want us to fill them out before we go on our dates."
Lois: "I have to get a date before I can go on one, Clark. I'm still filling out my online profile. If you want these main frame matchmakers to pick you the winner, you really have to be careful to choose JUST the right words."
Clark: "I filled mine out in ten minutes this morning."
Lois: "I guarantee that's the only ten you're getting out of it."
LOL.
Clark: "Let's see what you wrote..."
And again with the flirtatious looks from Clark. <3
Clark: "Under likes you have the theatre... you mean movie theatre."
Lois: "Details."
Clark: "Favourite drinks you have bubbly. yeah, if comes in a six pack."
Lois then totally checks Clark out and says...
Lois: "I do like a six pack."
I bet you do, honey. ;)
Clark: "Lois, there's nothing on here about monster trucks, now you love monster truck rallies."
Lois: "This is morning television, Clark. Monster tracks are not going to guarantee me a guy who'll impress the home viewers."
Clark: "Look, there are a lot of good things about you that would attract a lot of great guys
Lois: "Really? Like what?"
And Clark doesn't know how to answer that. LOL.
Clark: "W... You're Lois..."
Lois: "Thanks, Clark. But I already filled out my name. Good luck on your date, I'm sure you'll sweep her off her feet."
Bwahaha.
(Okay, next is this whole underground fight scene with this chick Mia and then she's moonlighting as a hooker, or is actually a hooker, with this ridiculous 'Lana Lang' blonde wig. Oliver drives up to her in his car and picks her up, but not sleep with her, to 'save her', ask her to join him as the Green Arrow blah, blah. Anyway, I couldn't be bothered capping it.)
Oh, now we have this scene with Tess at the Luthor Mansion and Zod appears. Had to include caps of this because hot damn Zod is sexy! And I like Tess. Tess talks about building these solo towers which will "generate enough clean energy to power ALL of Metropolis." *round of applause*
And now back to all we really give a damn about - Clark and Lois.
Clark is waiting for his date. Sound guy gives him an ear piece to wear which Clark talks into, doesn't actually put it in his hear LOL. Until the sound guys tells him to, then talks too loud haha. And then we hear Lois' voice from the ear piece...
Lois: "Wow, Smallville, talk about green. It's like your first day at the Daily Planet all over again"
Clark: "Does this mean I'm about to hear 'Lois Lane's rules of online dating'?"
Lois: "There really is only one rule when it comes to dating, Clark... show up. Like after you ask someone to a monster truck rally... it's a good idea to show up to the date."
Oooo. Another stab at him for standing her up.
Clark: "Maybe we should talk about this when we're not being taped."
Lois: "Okay, Clark. Let's talk about something else... like your online dating profile.
Clark: "I thought that was supposed to be private?"
Lois: Well, I'll give you this, you definitely were honest... but admitting you grew up on a farm is either going to get you a date with a country mouse or a cougar, looking for her next meal."
Them Clark's date show's up - this pretty blonde girl named Catherine, who is actually THE Cat Grant haha!! And Lois' look of jealousy when she sees her is just priceless. ROFL.
Anyway, Catherine is a little nervous.
Lois: "If you can't take the heat sister, get out of the cafe."
Clark: "Sorry, I have this uh, really annoying ringing in my ear."
OMG. The way Lois smiles when he says that. TOO CUTE. I love that she doesn't get annoyed by the comment... she just finds it funny. GAH!! <3
So Catherine tells Clark all about herself, to which Lois says...
Lois: "Is she for real? Congratulations, Clark! You're dating Mother Teresa in six inch heels."
LOL.
And here we have another scene with Tess and Zod where they discuss the Blur. I love the chemistry these two have. I love when he pokes her on her side.. mwaha! ;)
Lois visits Oliver to ask him for help. She wants him to tell her all her "red flags" so she can do better than Clark on her date, but all he can do is tell her the "good things" about her, which was rather sweet, actually. Oh, also Oliver is shirtless in this entire scene. Love me some shirtless Ollie!
Mia walks out of the shower and Lois jumps to the conclusion she's Ollie's... well, call girl.
Love when Lois says "nice towel, honey." LMAO!!
Chloe's getting her hackering on. It's the same dude from that earlier scene with Tess who's putting up the firewalls. Chloe keeps hacking.
(We then have another scene with Mia and Ollie. Again, couldn't be bothered capping this. LOL. He's still going on about helping her, gives her some clothes and they keys to his car. How generous!)

Lois (to the waiter): "Got anything stronger?"
Clark: "Last thing you need is a drink, Lois."
Lois: "Thanks, Clark. You sound like my mother on prom night."
(lets just ignore the fact Lois' mum died when Lois was six...)
Lois: "How do I look?"
Clark: "If this were a prom, you'd be crowned queen."
And Lois gets all embarrassed, grins and looks down at her hands. Eeeeep!! So damn sweet! Oh, I LOVE flirty Clois! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM!
Clark: "Your date's a lucky man."
Lois: "Do I detect a note of jealousy from the notoriously nice Clark Kent? Careful my date doesn't hear you. Might just have to take you down!"
Clark: "Like to see him try."
Lois: "You know what they say... all's fair in love and war."
Clark: "What's it gonna be for us, Lois? Love or War?"
OMG I can't believe how bold Clark is being! Did he actually just ask that? L;KASD;GAUSFLHGK!!!! Dear God I love season 9!Clark Kent.
Lois (also can't believe he just said that): "Clark! Sounds like you're asking me out on another date."
Clark: "If I was, would you say yes?"

Lois: "I'll tell you what I'd say..." (she says that so sexily. niiiiice.)
But we never get to find out what she'd say because in walks Lois' date... and it's... OLIVER! :O Much to Lois' surprise and Clark's annoyance.
So Oliver paid Lois' real blind date off so he could have the date with her instead. Um, wow, Ollie. Pfft.
(Oh, there's also a scene with Mia and the bad dudes between all of this. Again, no capping of this. Bad dude threatens her.)
And back to the date...
LOL. Lois downs her glass of wine. And LOL at her saying "only the finer things in life for Lois Lane." Then she downs another glass. Bwahaha!!
Oliver tells Lois there's only one reason why he came here... to finish telling her what he loves about her...
*insert awkward Lois and a jealous Clark*
Clark: "Lois, what's going on."
Lois: "I don't know."
Lois gets scared by what Ollie is saying so gets up and leaves.
Clark: "Lois! Lois!"
Lois: "Sorry, Clark."
And she cuts him off as she walks out, Oliver going after her.
They have this nice little heart to heart where Oliver basically asks her to get back together with him, but Lois tells him she loves him, but only as a "dear friend" She tells him she has to be totally honest with him, to which Oliver says "...Clark" and Lois says "yes". OH MY GOD. Did Lois just admit she's in love with Clark Kent?!? KSD.GJDKJFHGZG!!! I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!! Um, poor Ollie though.
Oliver leaves, sees Mia in the car when Lois comes after him. She tells him she's there for him, as a friend and they hug. Awww.
Lois: "Is towel girl your driver now?"
LMAO.
So Oliver goes to introduce Lois to Mia when the bad dude comes and attacks them! OH NOES!
Clark is at the TV studio. The producer shows him the new marketing ad which is a cardboard cut out of him and Lois. I WANT THAT CUT OUT!!!! Or I least want it in some sort of promo ad work for this season, because we have had NOTHING besides that re-hashed picture of Clark from season 4. Ugh, FAIL CW promo department. FAIL!
Producer lady says she has high hopes for him and Lois to which Clark, looks longingly at the cut out and sadly says "so did I." Awwwww. D:
So, back to Lois and Oliver being attacked. Lois's ear pice falls out and switches on, this alerts Clark that she's in danger.
Can I just say, the way Clark says Lois name here? SO. GOD. DAMN. SEXY.
And so it's Clark to the rescue!
So, this whole scene with the bullets was awesome, but um, Superman Returns, much?
Love the death glare look Clark gives Oliver. Like it's his fault Lois was in danger again. LOL.
Clark watches Lois and Oliver from a distance, more jealous Clark and he looks so heartbroken. :(
There's a scene with Tess and her security guard who turns out is a Kandorian with a "message from Zod."
Clark goes to visit Chloe, who's still battling with the firewall dude. But of course Chloe pwns him, because well, she's Chloe!
I loved this little exchange because my mind went straight to the gutter when I heard. Oh, the innuendo!
Chloe: Clark, this guy is so good, every time I get close, he'd show up and block me."
Clark: "I know the feeling..."
LOL!
Chloe then tells Clark to basically grow a pair and go for it with Lois. She tells him to ask himself "what do you want?" and of course, what Clark wants is Lois! WOW. GO CHLOE!!!
Another Tess/Zod scene. Mmmmm Zod.
Chloe meets up with the firewall dude. I actually found this scene amusing. Haha.
(There was another scene with Oliver and Mia. Mia has obviously left thinking Oliver wants nothing to do with her now that she went behind his back, but all is forgiven. he goes to pick her up, so she gets in his car and they drive off.)
And, okay, so here it comes. The kissing scene. This is where I lost my shit and flailed like an idiot for the entire night. Still flailing, actually.
Clark looks lovingly at her. So sweet! Then walks up to her. He is determined! But Lois is pissed off and ranting because they gave the TV news job to Cat Grant, so Clark can't get a word in. LOL.
Clark: "Lois."
Lois: "Did you hear? The brilliant brass over at KZXP have decided to go with someone else for their morning show."
Clark: "Lois."
Lois: "After everything that happened. After Ollie and I almost got killed! Guess who they've decided to go with? Apparently blondes test better with morning viewers."
Clark: "LOIS!"
Lois: "I'm sorry. I never should've tried out in the first place, or dragged you there with me and I just..."
And then he cuts her off but moving in and kissing her!!!!!!!!

This episode was PERFECT. I was worried that I was going to be letdown by it, because I had such high expectations, but nope, it did not disappoint AT ALL. I loved every minute of it. It couldn't have gone any better.

So Oliver goes to introduce Lois to Mia when the bad dude comes and attacks them! OH NOES!
Clark is at the TV studio. The producer shows him the new marketing ad which is a cardboard cut out of him and Lois. I WANT THAT CUT OUT!!!! Or I least want it in some sort of promo ad work for this season, because we have had NOTHING besides that re-hashed picture of Clark from season 4. Ugh, FAIL CW promo department. FAIL!
Producer lady says she has high hopes for him and Lois to which Clark, looks longingly at the cut out and sadly says "so did I." Awwwww. D:
So, back to Lois and Oliver being attacked. Lois's ear pice falls out and switches on, this alerts Clark that she's in danger.
Can I just say, the way Clark says Lois name here? SO. GOD. DAMN. SEXY.
And so it's Clark to the rescue!
So, this whole scene with the bullets was awesome, but um, Superman Returns, much?
Love the death glare look Clark gives Oliver. Like it's his fault Lois was in danger again. LOL.
Clark watches Lois and Oliver from a distance, more jealous Clark and he looks so heartbroken. :(
There's a scene with Tess and her security guard who turns out is a Kandorian with a "message from Zod."
Clark goes to visit Chloe, who's still battling with the firewall dude. But of course Chloe pwns him, because well, she's Chloe!
I loved this little exchange because my mind went straight to the gutter when I heard. Oh, the innuendo!
Chloe: Clark, this guy is so good, every time I get close, he'd show up and block me."
Clark: "I know the feeling..."
LOL!
Chloe then tells Clark to basically grow a pair and go for it with Lois. She tells him to ask himself "what do you want?" and of course, what Clark wants is Lois! WOW. GO CHLOE!!!
Another Tess/Zod scene. Mmmmm Zod.
Chloe meets up with the firewall dude. I actually found this scene amusing. Haha.
(There was another scene with Oliver and Mia. Mia has obviously left thinking Oliver wants nothing to do with her now that she went behind his back, but all is forgiven. he goes to pick her up, so she gets in his car and they drive off.)
And, okay, so here it comes. The kissing scene. This is where I lost my shit and flailed like an idiot for the entire night. Still flailing, actually.
Clark looks lovingly at her. So sweet! Then walks up to her. He is determined! But Lois is pissed off and ranting because they gave the TV news job to Cat Grant, so Clark can't get a word in. LOL.
Clark: "Lois."
Lois: "Did you hear? The brilliant brass over at KZXP have decided to go with someone else for their morning show."
Clark: "Lois."
Lois: "After everything that happened. After Ollie and I almost got killed! Guess who they've decided to go with? Apparently blondes test better with morning viewers."
Clark: "LOIS!"
Lois: "I'm sorry. I never should've tried out in the first place, or dragged you there with me and I just..."
And then he cuts her off but moving in and kissing her!!!!!!!!

AND SO HERE WE HAVE IT FOLKS! THE LEGENDARY FIRST REAL KISS BETWEEN CLARK KENT AND LOIS LANE ON SMALLVILLE!!!!

This episode was PERFECT. I was worried that I was going to be letdown by it, because I had such high expectations, but nope, it did not disappoint AT ALL. I loved every minute of it. It couldn't have gone any better.
