Blackstone 2o05

Feb 20, 2005 20:59

Mhairi and I decided that Blackstone '05 could pretty much be described in 2 words- farting machine.
The wholeeeee time, Kevin and James acted as a team- Kevin was the machine-man, and James was the button-presser. And everytime someone walked by, the button would be pressed, and the fart would come out, and would be followed by Kevin a) acting like nothing happened, b) covering his mouth in shock, or c) running away crying. ahhh it was SO funny, and it never got old. and this is coming from ME- the hater of fart jokes.

But there was much more than that. Friday- bus ride there w/ Chris was fuuuun. we did The Craft, which was Disney Princesses Shrinky Dinks and ate, talked, shrinked, and other fuuun stuff.
When we got there, I found out that I was rooming with ALLIE and BRITTANY! And I was in the same Family Group and Workshops as Mhairi! So we went in and got settled, then went to our first Keynote with Tony, and sang Soar for Time Number One. (this song will be recurring in here mannnny a time).  Cecilia from last year was/is sooo much better than this guy, so I was sad. He wasn’t bad he was just more boring and more.. country. We went upstairs at 1145ish, and we were all dead- so we talked and ate popcorn for a little, and then went to sleep.

Saturday- woke up BRIGHT and EARLY (7), and went down to breakfast, then Keynote, sang Soar (time #2), Family groups, then Workshops. WS1- the leader-guy was like this huge Teddy Bear with a sing-songy-put-to-sleep voice, so everyone was pretty dazed, and everyone was extremely bored. Then lunch, then WS2- which Mhairi DITCHED ME FOR. And I was all alone, and it was so boring and annoying. Blah. So my workshops kinda sucked- but it’s OKAY!
//Because after workshops was… FREETIME!! Where we:
+held a Dodgeball tournament! Where we constantly reminded people WHEN they were OUT.
+played with The Machine
+slid down rails outside
+ate yummy apples
+plus much MORE FUN STUFF!
then we sang Soar, and then there was the Altar-Call keynote… where I cried- AGAIN. But for different reasons than last time. Last time I made my decision to be a real Christian, and this time it was more personal, or something. Lately, I just haven’t been myself. I’ve been depressed, moody, and I’ve just been feeling really bad about who I am- what I look like, how I act, and plus all the other school, friends, family, and boy problems that I have. And I just, admitted them, and asked for help, and cried. But honestly, now I feel so much better- about EVERYTHING. I’m not going to psycho-analyze things that people do when I think they’re “out to get me”, or be too quick to judge, or let little things get me down. I’m going back to the old me! And I hope it lasts J
Then there was surprise Silly-String fight brought by Anna, which resulted in silly-string in pants. (not mine, Anna’s) and then the TALENT SHOWW!!! Ayayayay! I looooove that time. One girl played “What if God was one of us” on the piano, and the youth leaders attempted to sing “Deep and Wide”, and the Improv-troupe that did the “185 ____ walked into a bar” jokes.
Example: 185 Cocoa Puffs walked into a bar. The Bartender said “sorry, we don’t serve Cocoa Puffs here” “Well… Shimmy Shimmy, Cocoa Puff.”

(that one was my favorite. I loooove that joke guy, he told my Snoop Dogg/umbrella joke!! AHHH!!!! And the MUFFIN joke! And the GOLDFISH joke! <3<3<3<3 but it’s his last year * =(=(=(=(=( * )

and then there was some more stuff, and then Bed- where we all went into one room, and told stories. Then sleep.

Sunday- woke up early again (7), breakfast, Keynote (guess what we sang? That’s right, SOAR!), then family groups where Mhairi and I discovered that one guy we befriended was Mr. Annoyingly-clingy. (mmkuaaaaay.. HAHAHA, Mr. Mackeyyy!) then Worship, where we sang DIVE!! Yessssss, we all LOVE that song. Had communion, and heard testimonies. Then lunch ( mac and cheese, chicken, and this weird strudel thing. ) then packing…Then goodbyes L, then bus.

Home- watched Cheaper by the Dozen, talked with Mhairi, where we sang Our God is an Awesome God over and over and over, with all the hand motions. Haha we LIKE that song! Nothing too juicy.

Home- I’m not the proud owner of a NEW LAPTOP and PRINTER. For ME. ME! Yes! ME! Yayyyyyyy! And my brother got his Digital Recorder for his Guitar, and I had my first real drink other than water for the first time the whole weekend. I was going to go to see Hitch with Mhairi, but it didn’t happen, so we’ll probably go tomorrow- if you’d like to join.

Well congrats if you read this entire thing!! Yayy!! I will put the lyrics to Soar now, and make sure you sing it with a very country accent.

I’m sold out and radical
Sing a new song- forever moreee
I’m sold out and raaadical
Soar, soar soar!
soar, soar, soar
(something) like an eagle! Fly like a bird!
Totally free by the power of God’s word
the mORE I talk to Jesus, the mORE he lets me know
to be totally sold out, that’s the only way to go!
(repeat, 3000000000000000 times during the whole weekend- and there it is). Hahahahah I hate/love that song. And I only love it because I hate it so much. It’s tough love.
