So I found out that I am living in a corner room on the second floor of Bell-Young. Does anyone know anything about this building? The website is useless as far as measurements or really any info about the dorm goes. Any estimations of size or really any information at all on this building would be fantastic. Thanks!

nope nope, bell young has linoleum floors, buddy.

it's an alright dorm. the rooms are average sized, i think it's two floors.. the common room is decent, but honestly i've only really ever been over there once or twice. it's located off to the side of campus, off by the science buildings, so if you're going to be taking a lot of chemistry/bio/geo classes it'll be super convenient..

ah, dang. oh well.

the oxy website doesn't have photos, and even if they did it prolly wouldn't help because it varies by room, but they do have floorplans so you can at least see the general layout of the building and where your room is:

you shouldn't worry about it too much. buy bedding and all that but when you get down to oxy you should do most of the room shopping. theres a target next to school and a bed bath and beyond in pasadena.

I lived in a corner room of BY (101 I think) one year, and unfortunately that room is smaller than all others in the building. The layout was kind of funny- I think there was a custodial closet next to our room that cut into the space- and my roommate and I couldn't find a way to put both beds against the walls. We settled for one bed against a wall and another coming into the room, creating a little square within the room. (Bunking the beds is the best option, if you're willing to hoist yourself up.) All in all though, it wasn't horrible.
