The Feels Pt. II
It's an amazing ability that we have to be alone in our room or out with friends and find our selves in that one moment as we catch ourselves falling in love with that one person all over again. I got that feeling just a bit ago. It happens when you're watching tv or you're at work and you see people who are so limited in their time. And you just realize how blessed you are to be with someone who shares the exact feelings you have. And you don't have to wonder anymore because you feel... I can't even find the exact word for it.
Today (Aug. 13), we celebrated Don's birthday. I came over after I baked him a Funfetti cake. He opened his presents. His nieces, Ellie and Audrey, and his nephew, Andrew, were there. It was a good time! Then we went to downtown Detroit and ate at Texas de Brazil. It was amazeballs!!! Unlimited filet Mignon, lamb chops, chicken wrapped in bacon, Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, top sirloin, etc. Wow. Just wow. It was that too-good-to-be-true-am-I-close-to-death type of wow. Then we came home and watched a very amazing episode of The Challenge. It was just the perfect day for his birthday and I'm so very happy and I could tell he was quite happy, too. Well, as happy as he could be without reminding himself of the stress of work and all that.
I'm so thankful for today because it's the start of another year for the man I love. 27 years ago, God created someone so imperfectly perfect for me. Only took 22 years for me to meet him, but it was worth the wait. I guess I just think of all the people searching, waiting, hoping and praying to meet their piece... reminds me how blessed we are to have found each other at such a young age. Of the billions of people on Earth, here we are... 20 minutes away from each other, made for each other.
How does one find their other half in someone and not believe in God? How does one take for granted the beautiful glories and graces found in His mysterious ways? I am absolutely dumbfounded at how amazing our God is... so taken by surprise. It's like He still finds ways to surprise me, in the relationship I have with Don. And I am so blessed.
