St. Anne's Annual Sausage Festival

Sep 17, 2011 09:37

Let's just say this may have been the best one yet that we've attended!

I went over Dom's house and we had random plans in mind just in case because we weren't entirely sure what we could do this weekend. First plan was to drop off clothes for alterations, but when we got there the place was closed because the owner had a family emergency. Then we were heading over to St. Anne's unaware if the sausage festival was this weekend of not. Our backup if it wasn't would have been Hippo dogs or anywhere else they have hot dogs. Our super backup plan would have been Windsor (minus the fact that I didn't have my passport).

As we were driving down Mound, we could see sort of a backup and groups of people walking and a cop car, so we knew it had to be festival time! We pulled onto the street to park and of course we lucked out and got a really good parking spot. hahaha Don was already going nuts about our luck!

Then we had the best food minus the potato perogis that were supposed to be cheese potato. We walked around a bit and then got some drinks. Then we got Jet's wings, too. We walked through the silent auction and then went to bingo. It was 2$ admission for each of us and we won the first game we played. We won 7$. Then we bought three cover all cards and we won! Don's card had all the numbers! I even said it was going to be the one we didn't think. It was so crazy, too because he was like, "I have one more left!" And I looked at it and saw it was B-10. And I was like BABE! They called that already! And he's like "BINGO!" hahahahaha he's soooooooooooo crazy!!! We wont 26$ from that one!!!! Hahaha it makes me want to play bingo at community centers now!

Then we played two more games and he said it's ok if we lose because we have to be humble. That was cute. Wanted to pinch his cheeks after that. He's right, though. We have to be humble. But we definitely left that night on a good note :)

We got home and waited a little while and finally Sarah bear, Ray and Stacy came in from Chicago for the weekend because it's Audrey's baptism. I love Sarah... she's so funny and cute. I'm glad she was able to warm up to Don and me quickly. Then Don carried her so they could both walk me out. That sweetheart.
