Yarn shopping & a WIP
OK, I've been collecting knitting pictures on my digital cam for long enough; today is the day I get the last of the photos up here for all the world to see (all the world = all 3 of my friends).
Anyways, I went yarn shopping on Thursday, thanks to a birthday gift certificate from M. The result:
Yarn stores are evil; I spent much more than I planned. But it's all just so pretty. The red/orange/brown is destined to be the ubiquitous Clapotis that everyone and their mother seems to be knitting lately. But, it does look nice and everyone seems to enjoy making it so what the hell. Besides, I want to create something really nice as a thank you gift for our building manager, who was integral in getting us an awesome new deal on our current apartment.
The lime-green superkid will probably end up as a lacy scarf for me, and the black superkid (which has a gorgeous sheen of purple/green/red that really doesn't appear in the photos) is destined to become Branching Out as a birthday gift for M. Here it is in progress:
