My latest _noizeboy_ vs LUL broadside:
Date: 16TH December 2005
Dear Mr Millard,
I wish to formally register an appeal against the outcome of the grievance hearing with Mr Burton on the 10th of November 2005.
I feel that Mr Burton has not given serious consideration to the issues I raised. Indeed it was quite obvious that Mr Burton had not even bothered to read my letter of grievance thoroughly and was as a consequence not at all familiar with any of the issues at stake.
Once reminded of the facts he proceeded to be judge and jury for the defence which involved rubbishing all my issues, implying I was a liar and avoiding making comment on issues he had no easy answer to.
Mr Burton did proceed, however, to state (three times) that as far as he was concerned there was no link whatsoever between me suffering from insomnia following bereavement, stopping taking my prescription and returning to work 4 months early, asking for help with shifts on several occasions (I did not want to do start before 9am for a while because of sleeping difficulties) and being ignored, falling asleep in a full motoring position in passenger service with an instructor, raising this with the Train Operations Manager and asking for help with shifts again, being ignored and even laughed at, and then overrunning Angel Northbound 8 weeks later after being forced to endure 5am starts throughout the interim period.
I am totally dissatisfied with both the way the grievance meeting was conducted and the response I was given in writing some weeks later.
I am also very dissatisfied that I am forced to work for Mr Peak while this matter is resolved. I feel I have almost reached breaking point with all the bullying and intimidation that has been taking place at Golders Green both to me personally and to many of my colleagues over recent months and find it deplorable that I am forced to still work under a man who treats so many of us with such utter contempt.
To sum up I am absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated by Mr Kelly, Mr Peak and now Mr Burton and I therefore demand a second opinion on this whole matter.
I am certain the Evening Standard et al would be extremely interested to hear about this and many other issues that exhibit a blatant disregard for public safety (especially in the light of yesterday's front page revelations about safety on the Northern Line). I therefore hereby give notice that if I do not get a fair hearing regarding my letter of grievance in the very near future I am more than prepared to resign, sidestep my confidentiality agreement and reveal all that I perceive to be in the public interest.
Please find enclosed a copy of my grievance letter and Mr Burton’s response.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Harrison
