For the past decade, my closest family has had five members: my father, my mother, my sister (even if she doesn't live with us anymore), myself and… my sweetest cat Luna. But now… now we are six.
Because on this past Monday, my father appeared at home with… a little kitten!
It's two months old, male, white, and it's name is Albus.

Ah, and I'm in love with him )

I think Albus is a wonderful name. I'm sure the headmaster would approve, and would likely take great amusement in letting little Albus go frolicking through his office, playing with the knicknacks, and attacking Fawkes' tail.
I've had cats before that were reluctant to accept a new feline sibling in the house. Here's a trick you might want to try to encourage Luna to accept her new baby brother.
Open a can of tuna, dab some of the tuna juice on one of Luna's front paws, then do the same to Albus. Let the kitties groom their paws while in the same room together, then give Luna a little taste of tuna meat as a treat. Repeat the 'paw dab - let groom in same room - give Luna treat' routine twice a day for the next few days.
This will help Luna to associate Albus' scent with tasty treats for her (yes, you'll be appealing to her Slytherin self-interests ;-). With any luck after a few days she might decide that having a little brother isn't so horrible after all.

Sadly, my cat Luna doesn't want to groom herself. She even doesn't want the tuna! She only wants to go out, far from Albus… We have tried several times, and nothing. Things are as before. At least, Luna seems less bothered by the little one; she doesn't want to stay close to him, but that is all. I thank you for the advice, nevertheless :)
And yes, everyday I'm gladder he is named Albus. Sure our dear headmaster would enjoy watching the little one running and playing with just everything. I'm suspecting Luna is the Snape of this magic tale! :D
