Flying to Australia...

My aunt is in Melbourne. That is Australia. Australia, friends!!! A few days ago I was talking to snapetoy, who is Australian, and marvelling at her Sidney Zoo’s pics, not remembering that at that moment my aunt was taking at 24h fly and going to the fucking antipodes ( Read more... )

Personally I vote for you going to Australia. You're at an ideal stage in your life for experiencing such an adventure - you're finishing school, you haven't buried yourself in a career yet, and you don't have children or a spouse that you need to take into consideration. Such adult responsibilities can wait - go travel while you still have the freedom. Okay, maybe this isn't practical for you to do but...

(And here speaks the unsolicited advice from a woman facing 50 - I've worked long years developing my business, I have a good marriage, and a big beautiful home. I have all the trappings of successful adulthood, and yet... Sometimes I wish I had the freedom to stuff some clothes in a backpack, shove my passport and credit cards in my pocket, then head to the airport and hop on the first plane going to one of the destinations I've always fancied visiting 'someday'. Looking back on my life, one of my big regrets was that I spent some much of my life trying to act 'responsible' that I didn't take any opportunities to allow myself to be youthful and adventuresome. If you can, avoid filling your life with similar regrets.)

Thanks for you advice! It's very much appreciated...

I, personally, agree with you, if only because I'd really like going Australia. Certainly, this is the best moment; I've finished all my career subjects, so I would not lose any classes; and still I'm not working seriously... That can't be, until I finish my PFC, which I must do at home. And what you say it's true: after you start working, you have the money, but no the time. Although you could still escape... not with only a backpack, but still, a little suitcase... ;)

Anyway, my problem now is I have not enough money, but what I really need is to pay the fly; after we will see, won't we? :)
