The English Patient: It's been a while since I watched this, but I don't have an official entry on it, so I'm just gonna go for it. So epically depressing. And awesome. And sad. And fabulous. And Ralph Fiennes owns my soul. It's basically about a dying man taken in by a WWII nurse, and him remembering the part of his life that lead up to the plane crash that put him in her care. This was Best Picture in 1996, I believe.
VERDICT: If you're into more cerebral movies, see it see it see it seeeeeeeeeeee it. OMG yes.

Be With Me: This is a movie from Singapore that kinda borders on being a sappy inspirational movie, which I'm not a fan of, but there's more to it than just that. It's 4 or 5 fictional stories that are all intertwined somehow, and sort of centered around the true life story of a deaf/blind woman. It did actually make me cry at one point, because it talks a lot about love.
VERDICT: I'm on the fence here. It wasn't overwhelmingly good, but I liked it. I'd say it's up to the viewer: if you look it up and you like it, watch it (it's mostly in English btw).

Stolen Life: I kinda thought this would be the dramatic, Chinese cousin of Juno, but it turned out to be way different. By the end you're just kinda like "OMG THAT SUCKS" and it's not very satisfactory.
VERDICT: No. Just no.

I've Loved You So Long: French Cinema strikes again! It's about a woman who gets out of prison after 15 years and goes to live with her sister, and over the course of the film you find out more and more about what really happened to her. It unfolds veryyyyyyyyyy slowly, but if you have the patience for it, the payoff at the end is worth it. I quite liked it.
VERDICT: Same as "The English Patient" (both films have the same leading actress, actually).
