Anachronism Concept Art (4 dresses and 2 guys' outfits)

Jul 25, 2007 15:31

Ok, so for the past couple of days, I have been working on doing some concept art for Anachronism... and I thought it would be fun to share the love. The first thing I did was sketch out some ball gowns (that's right people... we're going to a FANCY PARTY!) for the three main girls (Andi, Rachel, Whitney) and Princess Cyrellia (ecause Sam would bite my head off if I left her character out). The original sketches (fronts AND backs of the dresses) can be found here. I strongly suggest that you click that, as the backs of the dresses will NOT be featured in the pictures below. "But, Andi," you may ask, "is the back of the dress really that important?" YES. YES, IT IS. There is detailing work on the backs of the dresses that I am very proud of and would like to show off. So go back and click that bloody link now.

Now, I give you the color tests for the girls' dresses, and a B&W sketch of an outfit for Shane, as well as a random guy's outfit that may or may not go to Sean. Please note that these drawings are NOT on my DA account because they have been TRACED from a book of Star Wars concept art. Therefore, I didn't really do too much except modify and color them. I'll let you know what is original in each piture when you get there. ALSO! I realize that I female figure that I traced is REDICULOUS AND PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Ergo, the dresses will look a little crazy. Don't worry about it, they've just been stylized to fit the model. I could have chosen a more realistic figure, but the drawing was just so beautiful that I had to rip it off as a tribute (you will also notice that all of the girls are holding one arm out at a 90 degree angle. This is because in the original drawing, the girl had a gorgeous veil that she was holding out to show the detailing). ON TO THE DRAWINGS!

The Girls:

On Andi's dress, I personally drew the neckline and front detailing, the train, and the flowing fabric that's attatched to the back of the dress. The dress is wine red and features translucent material that is a lighter red color with a metalic gold shimmer to it.

On Cyrellia's dress, I personally drew the sleeves and neckline, the front detailing, the entire bottom half of the dress, and the train. Cyrellia's "I'M A PRINCESS!" gown is spring green with gold accents and a gold train.

On Rachel's dress, I personally drew in the neckline and front detailing, the slit (I realize that she has ne legs... I was too lazy to draw them in), and the train. Rachel's dress is royal blue with embroidered gold fabric on the collar and train.

On Whitney's dress, I persnally drew in the neckline and all of the detailing, the sleeves, and the gloves. Whitney's dress and gloves are coral with translucent pink fabric for sleeves.

The Boys:

Shane's outfit is entirely original, with the only thing I traced being the frame and the bottom halves of the boots.
