...he lays the poodle on the table...
Ok no really.
Better day today. Sent out two resumes. The first went to a woman from MS XBox division I talked to at CHI in Boston this past spring. She had said to follow up with her once I relocated. Hopefully she gets it and it doesn't just get caught in a spam filter.
The other application was for a pretty simple short contract job through the staffing agency I'm working with. The woman emailed me right back to say I'd probably be a great fit and that she'd talk to me about the postion on Thursfay (I had an already scheduled interview with the agency for that day.. basically they get paperwork from you and make sure you aren't a psycho). Down side to this postion is I'll have to drive out to Bellevue. Ick. Commuting blows but it's temp.
I'll know more about it and other positions Thursday.
Tonight I met Liz (a friend from SI) and headed over to the Information Architects Meetup in Belltown and a cool little place called Rendevouz. It has a cool history. See:
http://www.seattlerendezvous.com/press02.html Met some interesting techie people, networked, etc.
monkeymodulator joined us shortly after we got there. Had some really good spinach dip.
This evening I found a couple other good Meet Up groups - Photoshop Users which takes place at Adobe ZOMG and one for Web designers. I think I'll check both of those out. If nothing else it feels good to get out of the house, and I think the PSU's group will be a good opportunity to learn new skills. It's sort of like a mini Photoshop conference without the ridiculously huge price tag.
Thanks to Mr.
drysil in a round about way I've disovered another game company in town so I'll be watching their job board now as well.
I heart mingling with other geeks and talking shop. It makes me feel like the stuff in my head is useful, perks my brain up, all that good stuff.
Not so much perky right now as sleepy. I think we're going to try and get Drivers Licenses tomorrow around lunch time.
Company arriveth soon! Need to get the house less insane. Game night scheduled at Liz & Eric's Friday.
