Scary shit.
So last night night Jessica had a small party at her place (like 16 people all from school). It was pretty fun.. barbeque, hung out, drank.. then 5 of the people decided they wanted to go for a walk... so like yeah, whatever, it's a pretty nice neighbourhood, it's only like 11 at night, they weren't drunk or anything.. so they left, and then a few other people went out for ice cream (drove).
Me, Daniel, Caitlyn, Krysta, Andrea, Kelsey, and Roy stayed at Jess's... we're just chilling and all of a sudden Matt (one of the guys who went for the walk) comes in, talking on his cell, covered in white stuff (which i later discovered was paint)... he was talking to a 911 operator and saying to send the cops and an ambulance because some random gang just beat him and his friends up. I thought they were trying to pull a prank on us or something... but then Dan (who you shouldn't get confused with Daniel... haha, Daniel = Hersky, Dan = Daniel Jin, got it?) comes inside (by now were all upstairs.. actually I was already upstairs, others were in the basement... anyway, he walks in the front door COVERED in blood, with more blood gushing out from right beside his eye. He goes into the bathroom... splashes water on his face... someone gets him a towel.. things went by so fast... next thing you know, everyones outside waiting for the cops and the ambulance to come.
They came. The ambulance took Dan to the hospital. The cops questioned people/got a description of the guys who did it... all I know is that there was about 15 of them, all black, all male, about our age and a little older (so like 18+)
after a while of the rest of us (who weren't all that involved) staying inside and freaking out, wondering what exactly happened, some people having panic attacks, the cops leave, and everyone else comes back in.
So all the guys (and one girl) who were invloved in the "fight" left, except for Ariel and 2 other girls left to go to the hospital with Dan.. we get the full story...
They were in the park across the street from Jessica's house and these guys came up to them and aksed if they wanted to buy some weed and they said no. Then Dan said something like "I told you this place was sketchy" and then I guess they got offended and got their little gang together (I'm not quite sure how it all went down...) and beat them up... They had what appeared to be a broken baseball bat.. which is what they stabbed Dan with... and then hit Bruce with in the back of the head.. and a can of paint, which they threw at Matt. Ariel going punched in the eye (he had a black eye) and the ear? and they didn't do anything to Ruth.. I don't know how they got away or anything... if they ran or the guys ran or what. It was really scary... especially then all of Dan's blood all over Jessica's floors.... and just the thought of a random gang attack.. like you hear about it.. but when it happens to your friends... and you were there (in a way).. it's just like holy fuck.
So what I've heard so far today is that Dan stayed overnight in the hospital, had surgery today, and is going to be in the hospital for a while... and the fate of his eye is still undetermined..., Matt went home after all this happened, but then went to the hospital and found out he had a cracked cheek and is also getting surgery, Bruce claims he's okay, but hasn't seen a doctor yet, which he really should, and Ariel and Ruth anre obviously okay (apart for maybe being majorly shaken up, etc.)
I realllllly hope everyone will be okay.
I don't think I'm okay right now.... Just really freaked out... had nightmares last night... never going to walk around outside after dark ever again!
The bastards who did this shit better get caught, they deserve to.... but unfortunately, I don't think they will... According to my mom, this will most likely be in the paper tomorrow... so that might help?
