(no subject)
So classes ended yesterday for the fall semester and I could not be happier. I had some good classes this semester and some not so good ones. Plus my tuesday/thursday class schedule was a real pain, but I'm not sure that my schedule for next semester will be much better. So far it looks like this:
Monday: 9:30-10:20 Dev of Western Civ
10:30-11:20 Arthurian Romance
1:30-2:20 Survey of Spanish Lit
2:30-3:45 Concert Chorale
Tuesday: 9:30-10:20 Dev of Western Civ
2:30-3:45 Introductory Sociology
Wednesday: 9:30-10:20 Dev of Western Civ
10:30-11:20 Arthurian Romance
1:30-2:20 Survey of Spanish Lit
Thursday: 9:30-10:20 Dev of Western Civ
2:30-3:45 Concert Chorale
Friday: 9:30-10:20 Dev of Western Civ
10:30-11:20 Arthurian Romance
1:30-2:20 Survey of Spanish Lit
2:30-3:45 Introductory Sociology
I want to find a core that can replace the intro soc class cause I really dont want to be in class that late on fridays. I did it this semester but it was a ballet class, not a real class, so it wasn't that bad. Plus the big gap between classes on tuesdcays and thursdays is really pointless, you can't go do anything cause you still have a class later and I never seem to do any work in that period. We'll see if I can work out something better.
Even though classes are over I still have a lot of work to do for finals. I only have two exams (Civ and English), for Hispanic Civ I have a presentation and a paper on Velazquez which I haven't started at all yet. For Conversational Spanish I have to submit a news journal of the news that I've been supposed to watch three times a week since two weeks ago. Too bad I've only watched Noticiero Telemundo twice this week... So ya, I'm kinda screwed in that regard.
My roommates and I had a christmas party last night that was simply fantastic. We had cookies and brownies and cake and cheese and crackers and this really yummy dip and pigs in a blanket and candy and other yummy stuff. We all got dressed up and it was so much fun :) But I forgot to take pictures and it's partly due to that party that I still haven't done anything productive today and it's 3:45. Oops.
In other news I'm definitely living off campus next year. But it's not as tragic as I originally thought. In fact, it will probably work out better because I hadn't found anyone to switch for me for when I go abroad to Spain so I would have had to pay for a whole year of housing on campus even though I would only be there for half of it. So three of my roommates and I signed a lease for a 3-bedroom apartment right near the school and I'll split a room with someone for first semester and then go off to Spain, yay! It's the cutest house ever. The landlady lives on the top floor and works at PC but she's super nice and is just renting out the bottom to cover her mortgage, she's not trying to make a profit. And she has a golden retriever that is sooo adorable. This is what the outside looks like, notice the porch with patio furniture, christmas decorations, stone wall and the cool windows in our dining room (yes that's right, I have a dining room).
The lease starts on May 25th so I'm thinking I'm gonna try to get an internship in Providence for the summer and live here instead of trying to find a place to live in Boston which was my original plan. So to anyone who ever finds themself in Providence and needs a place to crash - call me!!
I should probably go think about doing work. I'll be home next friday for break and I want to see everyone as much as possible. Enjoy the Christmas season!!
