Relief

Nick let out a great sigh of relief. Had he found the restroom at the mall for his small bladdered two year old? No. Had he just kicked off his shoes and parked himself in front of the television after a long day at work? Not quite.

There had been something bothering him all day. It was an itch, smack dab in the center of his back, which was unfortunate because there was no easy way for him to reach this location. However, Nick could be very resourceful when he needed to be. He found Sara's Shamu toy (Shamu's head on a long stick which could be made to open and close it's mouth be using the little trigger at the end of the stick) and used it to reach over his shoulder.

"Ahhh..." He sighed happily and sank into the couch, using the killer whale toy to scratch his back. Sara watched on, with a puzzled look on her face.

"Daddy? Shmu?"

"Shamu? Oh. 'Hello, Sara!'" He stopped scratching for a moment to have Shamu "talk". "'How are you? I love you! Let's go swimming!'"

"Daddy silly!" Sara giggled and reached for her toy. Like a good Daddy, Nick handed it over, even though he continued to itch.

He watched her play, though at some point, he must have begun to frown because Sara looked at him with a pout.

"Daddy?"

"Yes, Babygirl?"

"Daddy boo boo?"

"No boo boo. I'm just itchy."

"Itty?"

"Yeah."

"Why, Daddy?"

"Why?" That was a good question. There were lots of possible explanations, but before he could get to any of them, he felt a set of gorgeous hands on his back. He let out another great sigh of relief and smiled.
