I just happened to check my friends page, which I actually do often, and I realized that I haven't updated in here, well, since April.
Sorry.
Well, let's see. Where to start.
First, John and I are so glad we're in Shreveport. It is SO much nicer than Oklahoma. There are places to go, things to do! Second, John started training last week, and I'm proud to say that so far, he's made perfect scores on the two tests he has taken! We are supossed to find out July 21st if we are lucky enough to get to stay here for the next three years, or if we have to Minot, North Dakota. So please, if you are reading this, take a moment to pray that we stay here. I am a Southern girl, NOT a Minot girl.
The biggest news lately, is that we are builing a home right now. A three bedroom two bath home in a subdivision right outside the base, called Northgate Estates. Our lot backs up to the base, so we have a view of base housing from our living room. (Can we say privacy fence?) Well, the home is being built as we speak, well, as I type. It's a brick home with a two car garage, a large remote master bedroom with a large bathroom that has his and hers walk in closets and a large, get this, WHIRPOOL BATHTUB. As a girl, this is my major priority in the home. The moment I've got the keys to the house, I will be in that bathtub. I'm so excited because the tub in the rental house we have now, is scary. I'm not going to take a bath in that. I was even afraid just to take a shower in it! I had to buy a tub mat! :)
Well, our closing date is August 30, but the home will most likely be done before then, since already it has the 2x4's,the roof, and the tubs in. The company is just waiting on our bricks to get in. Also, we got lucky enough to get a clause written in the contract that says if we have to move because of John, that we get our deposit money back, because the home is a neighborhood that has NO problem selling. And we just lucked out, we happened to sign the papers at the right moment, so we're getting to pick out everything for the home, including brick, colors, paint, cabinets, flooring, fixtures, EVERYTHING. So, if we end up moving, at least I made a pretty home for someone else!
I guess that's about it. Still no kids, for all of you that expected us to get pregnant quick! We're taking our sweet time, and are in NO hurry to have kids. We have Max and Tyco (our two dogs) and that is all we need right now.
Sorry to those who commented on my last journal update and I did not reply, livejournal is still sending emails to my old account. Oops. I guess I need to fix that.
