First off, Hi it's been a while! Haven't really taken any time to update my journal here since facebook, twitter, mixi have been taking up most of my "writing" time. Still, I have to give at least some sort of a report about the awesome concert that jealkb gave on Tuesday, July 6th 2010 @LiquidRoom.
We arrived at the venue (
sarita_sy07 ) and myself around 6pm. Much to our surprise, there was a whole area inside where people could totally get in, smke, and even have drinks before the actual show. We met one of our friend up there after signing our tanabata wishes. I wished "To keep on getting tickets so I could see jealkb live more!" I did not take a picture unfortunately but the trees were made by the stylist that works on London Hearts who apparently offered to make them. They put them on the stage before the show started.
The members also wished for various things... Haderu-sama wished "That they all go to the budoukan with chaos-sama and mofto-sama when they come back", Elsa-sama just wrote "konnichiwa" (which is basically hello) and Ediee-sama wrote something completely unrelated but... what did you expect. Hideki-sama wished for his family's well being.
(side note) On June 6th, 2010 Nibunnogo had a live show where they did skits and all for a DVD and Morimoto Hideki announced that he had been married for 11 years and had a 10 years old daughter. And this was no joke. Personally I had sort of read about it on twitter but assumed it was an inside joke between the members... but it wasn't. The company was aware of that and they never found the timing to actually announce it. Hideki wrote an explanation/apology post on his nibunnogo blog the 1st of July.
Anyways, we had pretty poor numbers this time around (626-627) so we decided to hang towards the back anyways to be able to do the whole furitsuke to the songs. Mind you their new song "Super Special Summer" has a really hard but cool furitsuke! At about 7:30 the lights dimmed and the theme of the "Phantom of the Opera" started.
The members came on stage but it felt really empty without chaos-sama and mofto-sama. They were wearing the outfits of the latest single which, may I add, are totally awesome! The show started right away with "Fly" followed by "Kuroi Sabaku" and "Body Friction". During all the songs the WHOLE crowd was moving along which seemed to make Haderu-sama super happy. Seriously only die hard fans were there... which is to be expected of a weekday show!
After those first three song there was a mini MC during which Haderu-sama talked a bit about the new songs that they had made as just 5 members. For some reason a girl in the audience screamed just like she had fallen down a trap which made everybody sorta laugh, including the members. Haderu-sama even said he was pretty sure he hadn't dug any "traps" in LiquidRoom yet.. and then they rambled on on this for awhile. It was quite funny.
After this they started again for 4 songs, including 2 new ones. They went like "Tsumi to Batsu to Wana", "Tsuioku no Kagi", "Aizai" and "Sakki Ryouran". Since most of them were new no one knew the furitsuke to most of them but we went along with it. Most of the new songs are really nice. A lot of them include Hideki in the vocals too, and have parts to be sung by the fans. Most of them were happy up beat songs.
After this set of songs there was another MC. This time around they talked again about the new songs, "falling girl" fell again attracting more attention and laughter from everyone, then Haderu-sama and Hideki-sama started getting into an "argument" where Haderu-sama told him that all he didn't have to go to rehearsal.. he should just come on the actual day and randomly dance. (Reminding anyone of a specific pattern?!) And so Hideki-sama stormed off the stage and Haderu-sama followed suit.
Now usually when they show videos they are always pre-recorded, but NOT THIS TIME! It was completely live! So Hideki-sama is back-stage and Haderu-sama runs in and starts calling his name over and over and over again ignoring the fact that he's just a few inches behind him. They start arguing and then Haderu-sama punches him, Hideki-sama fumbles down knocking over a so-conveniently-well-place-table-and-empty-ashtray. But it doesn't end there, the whole thing from there is pretty much ad-lib and Haderu-sama repeatedly punches Hideki-sama over 10 times. The whole crowd is of course enjoying this whole show because Haderu-sama is fumbling on his words and obviously laughing about it. Hideki-sama tells him he hits him to much to which he gets back a "That's because you're not saying the next song's title!" And so he finally says the next song's title which is.. "Koi Suru Nichiyoubi".
Another new song which if I recall right was quite fun to dance. It was followed by "Opti" which was short compared to usual. Why is that? Because they didn't have us scream at the top of our lungs for 20 chorus like Haderu-sama always loves to have us do. This time it was just the regular length version of it, which my vocal chords were quite happy about!
After this they took a quick break and then introduce another new song "Resistance". I don't remember much of it but it was a decent song I think.
Another mini MC followed. This time Haderu-sama talked a bit about the songs and also about the next live. They talked about the ranking of the requests up until now and he said it was very weird that for a while "To Aru Koi" was the number 1 most requested song. Ediee-sama was of course quite happy and smiling about that, to which the members started thinking that maybe he was the one that had voted repeatedly for his own song.
Then he turned his attention to dunch-sama at they sort of starte dpicking on him, giving him new nicknames and such to which dunch-sama got angry and went off stage (like they usually do). All the members looked at each other and then Haderu-sama called "Listen, ORANGE HERO". Ediee-sama and Elsa-sama started playing their instruments and the whole audience started jumping along like nothing happened. dunch-sama came back screaming "Somebody come and stop me! Even the staff in the back were all ready and waiting!"
After this Haderu-sama explained that they felt that if dunch-sama left, they'd have no choice but to do it with 4 members. They felt that they "could maybe pull it off" and so they told dunch-sama to "just wait for awhile" and then started playing again. Just like previously, the crowd got into it and after about 10 seconds of it dunch-sama interrupted it saying: "I couldn't resist the urge to stop this. I can't believe I even tried to not do anything!" And they rambled on some more about this. They then said that they have now a second verse to the song! (YAY!!!!!) which means even more fun because I love this song! The furitsuke has also changed and become REALLY COMPLICATED!
Anyways with all 5 members this time they started playing the song again. The fun part about this is that since this song was written for DragonBall, they have now implemented the "kamehameha-" move into the furitsuke. It was sooooooooooo much fun!
It was followed like usual by "chikai" which I have now mastered the moves to! Being further in the back proved really nice because I could really just go at it. Before going to the next song, Haderu-sama asked one of the staff member to bring him his phone. He had promised that he would make a live tweetcast from the concert which he did. Everyone in the audience was screaming from fun, but not just because the camera was filming, seriously the crowd was really just awesome that night! After they connected they followed with "Makemagic" which EVERYONE just had a blast with in the audience. The Condors have really made the furitsuke very fun to this song! ^_^
They followed right in with "Super Summer Special" which a lot of people had at least checked Hideki-sama's video on youtube to know the furitsuke to. It received a very positive response and everyone just really seemd to have a blast, including me. Haderu-sama was just beaming when he was looking at the crowd. They finished this block with "Noise" which is the coupling on the single.
After this he disconnected the tweetcast and then they started talking some more. I'm starting to be blurry about all the details but it resulted into Haderu-sama leaving the stage furious for being told he was "dasai" yet again and Hideki-sama going after him.
Another total ad-lib corner continued in the back and was completely hilarious. Haderu-sama was telling Hideki-sama that he knew that this would all happen, knew that he would follow him back and knew what he would want for the next song. He said he wrote the next song in an envelope and handed it over to Hideki-sama who opened it to revealed a picture.
As I explained earlier, about a month ago Hideki-sama explained that he had a wife and daughter, and it was their picture inside. Their eyes were covered with the infamous black bar but they both looked very cute. (His wife and kid I mean) and so they started explaining that sometimes there are things that you want to share but can't always... and so on.. and eventually turned it into a partial joke but they did say that they hoped that people would understand.
They opened the envelope with the real next song title which was "Nageki no Endless". It was followed by "Kills", "La Vie En Rose" and "Daraku" without much interruption I believe. (I might get some of the chronology wrong, lots happened at that live which laster 3 hours!)
After this they said their goodbyes and exited the stage while we were shown a list of upcoming summer Fest concerts and then they gave us a preview of were the poll was at to that date about the set list for July 27th's show. I cannot remember the total order but I know that "Koi Kizu" was about 2nd. I really cannot remember the rest and it has most likely changed a lot.
We called them back for an encore and they came in with their new T-shirts which I don't really fancy but oh well. They talked about more about Hideki's family thing and then Haderu-sama told us he had found the most awesome thing he wanted to show us. He showed us this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCuTArqBTqM&playnext_from=TL&videos=Aqq4g-h9_DU He said he had stumbled upon this video and thought it was really awesome! He talked pretty much through all of it saying that the guy sung really well and was obviously at a hostess club judging from the cherring halfway through. He then asked the audience if they knew who he was. One girl just a few rows in front of me said that he was a client at her convenient store where she works and that they had talked about jealkb before. The store is in Saitama.
Then Haderu-sama said that it would be so awesome if the guy could come to the show and be like a "honnin toujou" which is a common thing in Japan when the "real person comes" while an imitator is impersonating them. He said it would be really awesome if he arrived behind him at the concert, to which the members reminded him that HE was the "real person". Still, I'm sort of hoping this guy will show up next time!
The encore consisted of "DDD", "Rolling" (New song.. quite fun!), "Sadistic Maria", "Ai Phone" and "WILL".
They had mentioned a bit earlier that Ediee-sama had came up with a new song called "Ai Phone" (iPhone) to the request of Haderu-sama. The song was pretty fun actually, I liked it a lot! Before the last song, Haderu-sama said "Ok, let's close the night on this." to which a lot of fans started mouthing "shell" as it was their usual closure song but he told them that as jealkb with 5 members, "WILL" would be their last song.
Now "WILL" will always remind me of the concert when chaos-sama and mofto-sama last appeared because it was so full of emotion. I managed not to shed too many tears I think but was still partially mixed with sad and happy feelings. Before that song too he had us do the call that AKB48 does before their concerts, he said he was expecting 2ch to be quite fun that night. And that prety much closes that chapter.
Overall it was another totally awesome jealkb concert that I doubt I will forget anytime soon. 5 members did feel different but I will always just follow them no matter what happens because they are sincerely such an awesome group! Not to mention the love they give us! Even if we were far back this time, Haderu-sama still found us and waved at us. Seems like being a head above the people in front of you helps! (^_^)
And so that closes my long overdo update/review!
(This is going public so that all jealkb fans can see this!)
