my mom needs to learn to let go!
ok, so i'm 22 years old, i'm going away to school next semester (transfering) and my mom still treats me like i'm in high school. tonight just put the cherry on the icing (however that saying is, i'm too pissed to remember). well i was over at my friends house, it was me, kelly and christy. and its not even like they're bad people, cuz they're not. we weren't even drinking, even if we were, we are all of age so it wouldn't matter. we were just hanging out at kelly's house having a good ol' time. then 12:45 comes about, and my mom calls me. she first of all is in a bitchy mood and says come home. i say no, its not even 1:00 and i have nothing in the morning or all day to do for tomorrow. then i hang up. then she calls again, yells at me, i tyell at her, then i hang up. then she keeps calling and i ignore the phone calls. then christy was going to leave anyway cuz she had to get up to go to her job, so i just went with her, but if she didn't have to go, i wasn't going to go. my mom has been like this all the time, always going me curfews and always yelling at me when i dont go home on time. and also we were in the same freaken town it wasn't like i was an hour away! i was not even 2 minutes away! then she tried to threaten me on the voicemail that she was going to come over there pick me up and embarrss me, but she is full of emtpy threats as my brother puts it. so pretty much my question to you is how do i stop her from being so controlling and freakish and clingy?? how do i get her to let go?? oh and also, i'm the youngest of the family if that helps at all. cuz i know thats a big part of her clingyness. please someone heop me cuz i cant have her calling me every second of the day when i'm away at school! and i'm going 10 mins away from my house and i cant have her there all the time as well! i need to be able to have my independence and grow up and she isn't letting me!! i need help desperately!!! thanks in advanced!
