My brother wanted to get the new Simpsons box set for some time, so I went today to Future Shop. The clear plastic casing that covers that *actual* plasting casing was all banged up, so I went to another Future Shop. Again! I asked the dude if he had any more copies because the two on display had dents, and he was so unpleasant about it.

Honestly, if you're spending $50 on something, shouldn't it be flawless? I don't *care* if it's damage that doesn't effect the performance - if it's going to gradually accumulate wear on my shelf, it should be pretty perfect when I buy it. I also realize it's a mass-produced commodity and such, but there's a real problem when they're *all* dented. Anyway, I'm sure everybody reading this agrees.

So I got my hair cut at Vidal Sassoon today. They have a school, which means it's cheap:

It's also good - the students are all already certified stylists who just want to learn the VS way (my cutter has been at it for 18 years!) In total, it was $25, and I ended up with a cut as detailed and zany as if I had paid full price - the right side is completely Louise Brooks, the left is a cleaner and lighter version of the usual choppy layer thing I have. The bangs are also kind of like that: they begin short and diagonal on the right and get much longer on the left.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I will go back...It was pretty ideal for me since I like to mix it up and I always tell them to do what they want. You go in, and the course instructor consults and assigns the student a cut to do (I think this one suits my face and my style pretty well), and the instructor essentially goes from student to student, step by step. In that sense, the downside is that it takes twice as long as a regular cut. I was meaning to bring reading material, but I was in such a rush this morning that I forgot - I ended up staring at myself in the mirror for two hours (which is great on a day when you don't feel that good about yourself!)

What a randomly written post - sorry for the jumbled thoughts:)
