From getting over the flu I now have a really bad cold lol. Blah, I can't stop sneezing and it's driving me crazy. Don't you hate that? lol of course you do =p.

Today was ok, I worked on my French and English portfolio pieces for Steve's class today and my mom was a bitch. All I wanted to do was hang out with her and 80% of the time she'd snap at me or have some really mean comment when all I wanted to do was ask her something.

lol I told PFK that I'd explain more about my school. Well... first off it's a very small K-12 school and the max number of students in the whole school is around 460. Yeah, TINY!!! My middle school in LA had 1,500-2,000 students! So the down size was a big change at first but you love it. It's very artsy and hands on. We all call our teachers by the first name. My favorite two teachers retired last year Craig and Larry. Craig Johnson was the Lit and Language and had the biggest room in the school WITH COUCHES!!! I miss that, they took them out over last summer. Larry Preston was the History and Governement teacher and a HUGE activist in the community. Both had been there since the school opened 35 years ago.

Replacing him this year was Steve and Kary. lol I have this huge long rant here in December about Kary so I'm not going to even go into her except that I hate her with a passion. Steve is cool, he's a nice guy but to me just ok. Neither are as laid back which is what represented MLC but they're not from here either. The other teachers are Paula, Joyce, Abby and Lewis. Paula is really scary but she's really cool. Don't get on her bad side otherwise she's a great person, she's the science/math teacher but added Chorus to the avenda this year YaY! and wants to make it a year round class next year! Joyce, is the Artsy, ditsy teacher but she's also an extremely nice person just extremely active in the community and loves going to art type things. I don't take her classes lol. Abby is sorta the special ed teacher, she's new too this year but I don't know much about her. Lewis is ALL Math. He breathes Math and lives math. lol He's like 57 years old and are taking Calulous classes!

Anyway enough about the teachers. The school runs on a Trimester- which means 3 parts instead of 2. September-Early December, December-March, March-June. It works. =) We don't have grades and at the end of each Trimester we take this thing called our Portfolio piece (our best work in the class)and put it in a Folder and in May we present a half hour presentation to some judges who grade us on how we've done this year. A Half hour sounds like a long time but it's not. We present Four main pieces, our Personal Statement, which is our say in who we think we are and how we are as learners, Writing Sample, Math Sample, and Personal Choice. It goes by really quickly. And that's my school!
