On Sunday, Bruce & I took Reggie & Atom to Rocky Bayou National Park in Niceville. It was pretty sweet, except for the part where I walked right under a giant spiderweb, turned around because Bruce was "OMG"-ing & noticed a huge spider sprawled across it. I have arachnophobia & I'm pretty sure my brain went dead for a second because I just stood there in shock, silent, whereas, the typical person would jump around/run away/scream--freak out.
This morning as I was getting dressed for work, I noticed a black dot on the back of my right knee. I went to brush it off, but it didn't budge. I removed it with my fingertips & threw it on the floor. I looked closely at it & saw that it was a damn TICK! I went to wash it down the drain, but when I went back to the bathroom, it was crawling out of the drain! I grabbed my chap stick & squashed it.
So being the paranoid person that I am, I searched for Lyme Disease, etc. on Google & freaked myself out, as usual. (Like the time I thought I "had" Rabies because Reggie hadn't had his Rabies shot & his saliva got into a cut on my knuckle.)
It's been hours & the bite-site hasn't developed into a "rash that looks like a bulls-eye" (yay!), but, just the thought of bugs makes my skin crawl. Ew.
