Don't think there's anything wrong with you, because there isn't. And just because you have your parents' genes in you doesn't mean you'll end up like they are. If you just assume you're going to be like them, you're more likely to make the same mistakes. So, keep your chin up and be careful in life. :)

If you're worried about ending up like either of your parents, don't. The trick is to accept that you're related to them and that they're a part of you. But also you have to recognise what traits of theirs you don't want. What actions and mistakes they made that you don't want to. Then you just have to make sure to not do those things and make those mistakes.

My family keeps saying that I remind them of my uncle - my DEAD uncle. And I know he's a part of me and I know that because of that, I may be prone to making the same mistakes as he did in life. So, I identified those mistakes and plan to make sure of staying clear of them so that way I don't die earlier than expected. Hence my hatred of alcohol.

I'm just sorry that you feel that way about your parents though... :(

hey, everyone has family problems. nobody is an exception. Kevin and lauren made some great points, though. The difference between yo and your parents is that you are you and your parents are your parents. Even though you are related, you're completely different people, although similar genes run through the blood. You have and always will have the ability to do what YOU want in life, and not have to worry about being in your parents' shadows.

Oh yea and on a lighter note, today was wicked awesome. I'm surprised we all were able to get enough money for lunch lol.
