Hello guys, it's been a while =)
So my project!
Seeing as I don't think I ever did mention what it was to entail, the title of it is 'Relationship Between Man and Beast'. I've been doing a LOT of research on many things - from animal rights/welfare, fur industry, symbolism/religion, feral children etc etc. The problem I've been having lately is getting out of my head and the theory side to moving into the practical side of things. Doesn't help either that they've been so unorganised and I've not had ANY workshops in sculpture, photography or printing - very upset about that!
However, thanks to both Arthur and Bob, I have a direction now. I do find it quite weird that I've been trying to avoid wolfy art just for the fact that it's what I'm 'known' for. And when Arthur came to help me his eyes went STRAIGHT to the three wolf photos I had on the wall. He suggested Joseph Beuys performance of the Coyote (which I enjoyed and was quite annoyed with myself for not thinking of that in the first place!). So I've blown up two of the photos I did and painted onto them, brought in some of the fake fur I used for my Feral Child project last year and have worked with that...erm...photographed my friend's hair and going to photograph animals with different fur colours.
Basically come to the conclusion that I'm going to humanize the wolf, and animalize (haha, awesome wording) the human. After reading Animal Farm, that's where that kinda came from =)
Not sure what else to say at the moment, I'm a little tired from being out last night >.<
Here's a few pages out my sketchbook =)
